FREEHOLD – Monmouth County Clerk M. Claire French reminds registered voters that time is running out to apply to vote by mail.
Registered voters who wish to vote by mail need to complete an application for Vote By Mail Ballot and mail it by Tuesday, Oct. 28, to the Monmouth County Clerk of Elections office.
Applications may be obtained from the county clerk’s page of the Monmouth County website at www.visitmonmouth.com or by calling 732-431-7790.
Any voter may apply in person or by designated messenger until 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at the Clerk of Election’s office, 300 Halls Mill Road, Freehold Township.
The election offices are open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
“There is no reason for a registered voter to miss out on voting in the upcoming Nov. 5 election,” French said. “If you know who you want to vote for and might not be able to vote in person on Election Day, there is still time to apply to vote by mail.”
French also reminds voters that once they have applied for a Vote By Mail Ballot, they will not be permitted to vote by machine at their polling place on Election Day.
“If the voter did not apply, receive or return a mail-in ballot, they will be provided a provisional ballot at the polls,” she said.
All voted mail-in ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections office at 300 Halls Mill Road in Freehold Township by the 8 p.m. close of polls on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
