SEA BRIGHT – Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno is spending the night in the hospital with a fractured wrist and elbow after taking a fall from her bike in Sea Bright this morning.
Guadagno was admitted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, for routine evaluation, said Kevin Roberts, a spokesman for the Governor’s Office.
Guadagno was riding her bike through the borough this morning when she stopped suddenly to avoid a vehicle and fell, Roberts said in an email.
Guadagno is “in good spirits and resting.” She is expected to be released on Friday, Roberts’ email said.
Guadagno, a Republican, lives in neighboring Monmouth Beach.
She is serving as acting governor with Gov. Chris Christie out of state, campaigning for Republican candidates around the country.
