11 RFH Student-Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

RUMSON – Flanked by proud parents and supportive coaches, 11 student-athletes from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School recently took a significant step toward turning their dreams of playing on a college sports team into reality.

After being recruited by sports programs and making verbal commitments to colleges and universities, the students “sealed the deal” by signing their letters of intent on Nov. 20 in the RFH Library.
The RFH Boys Lacrosse Team is sending six players on to college-level programs: Ryan Campbell, Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa.; Chris Hubler, Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.; Dominic Padula, Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y.; Conner Phillips, Syracuse University, N.Y.; Colin Shea, Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pa.; and Chris Sutphen, Manhattan College in New York City.
RFH Girls Lacrosse has three senior players bound for college programs: Bridget Curran, University of North Carolina; Nicolette Dunphy, Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.; and Mary Scarrone, Davidson College in North Carolina.
RFH senior Kate Edwards will be joining women’s crew at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa.
Shane McCarthy, a senior player on the RFH baseball team, is headed for Seton Hall University in South Orange.
“We are very proud of the accomplishments of these student-athletes, and are confident that they will make many positive contributions to their college programs,” said Chris Lanzalotto, RFH director of athletics and student activities.
