11/15 – Bayshore Community Hospital to Host Vision Awareness Day Nov. 20

HOLMDEL –Bayshore Community Hospital will host Mitchell-Vassar Vision Awareness Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Robert B. Meyner Reception Center at the PNC Arts Center.
Gail McWilliams, a motivational speaker who uses humor, sheer joy, and her personal experience with vision impairment, will provide inspiration for seeing beyond life’s current obstacles and challenges. Her talk, which is infused with threads of hope, vision and passion for life, will inspire all participants to view life as a gift that is full of possibilities.
The day also will include an educational program presented by Dr. Manoj M. Thakker, a board-certified ophthalmologist; a resource fair, featuring New Jersey Blind Citizens Association, Lions Club, Monmouth County Health Department and the state Commission for the Blind, and lunch. Guests are encouraged to bring unwanted eyeglasses for the Lions Club Recycle for Sight program.
