11/22 – Ranking Bloods Gang member Pleads Guilty to Murder

FREEHOLD – A high-ranking member of a subset of the Bloods street gang pleaded guilty Thursday to charges related to a 2006 Long Branch homicide, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Valdo Thompson, 28, of Jackson, who is also known as “SB” and “Soldier Boy,” pleaded guilty to murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and racketeering.
Authorities alleged Thompson is a “five-star general” in the Sex, Money, Murder set of the Bloods, with Thompson acknowledging that when he appeared before Suprior Court Judge Anthony J. Mellaci Jr. Thompson also admitted to engaging in drug distribution in his role with the gang, according to the prosecutor’s office.
As part of his plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend that Thompson be sentenced to 40 years in state prison, with the stipulation he serves at least 30 years before being considered for parole.
Thompson is scheduled to appear before Mellaci on Feb. 27 for sentencing.
