FREEHOLD – Area residents can do their holiday shopping close to home this year with the 2013 Made in Monmouth Hyperlocal Shopping Directory that is available on the Monmouth County website at www.visitmonmouth.com.
“Here’s a chance to get a jump on your holiday shopping and support our local businesses,” Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone said. “This easy to use, online shopping guide has links to makers and sellers of all sorts of products and gift ideas that are made right here in Monmouth County.”
The interactive directory includes only Monmouth County small businesses. Email addresses, phone numbers, websites, and if applicable, store locations are included to provide easy holiday shopping.
“Every vendor listed in the directory makes unique consumer products,” Arnone said. “Some of these folks lost homes and may also have had substantial damage during Super Storm Sandy and have spent the last year working hard to rebuild. Let’s help them by shopping hyperlocal this year.”
There is tremendous variety in the directory, everything from beautiful handmade children’s products to wine made from grapes grown and fermented in Monmouth County to art and jewelry for every budget and occasion to gourmet foods and candies.
The Monmouth County Division of Economic Development released the Made in Monmouth Hyperlocal Shopping Directory in advance of national Small Business Saturday which is Saturday, Nov. 30.
The directory is a follow-up to the successful Made In Monmouth event held in September that introduced residents to the variety and quality of products being made in Monmouth County.
Made in Monmouth is a project under the Division of Economic Development’s Grow Monmouth initiative. For more information about how Grow Monmouth can help your business, go to the Grow Monmouth page at www.visitmonmouth.com.
