1/2 – Police Investigate New Year's Eve Bank Robbery in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN – Law enforcement authorities are investigating a New Year’s Eve armed robbery at a Port Monmouth bank.
At approximately 8:40 a.m. on Dec. 31, township police responded to the Two River Community Community, 357 Highway 36, concerning report of an armed robbery, said Det. Lt. Stephen Dollinger.
Witnesses told officers that an approximately 25-year-old male carrying a black handgun entered the bank demanding an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect was wearing black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt and a black cloth pulled over his mouth, standing approximately 5-feet-5-inches in height and described as having a slim build and with medium to olive skin tone.
The suspect was last seen running from the bank, Dollinger said.
