OCEANPORT – The borough council will conduct a special meeting Monday to fill a vacancy on the council.
The council will be meeting to select one of three candidates put forth by the Republican municipal committee.
Councilman William Johnson, a Republican, resigned from the six-member council on Nov. 1, due to a chance in jobs. Johnson’s replacement will serve for a year and would have to run for office next November to serve out the remainder of Johnson’s three-year term.
