RED BANK — The Borough Council and the owners of FIXX nightclub have reached a tentative agreement over two summons the nightclub received for alleged liquor license violations, according to borough attorney Daniel J. O’Hern Jr.
The borough council was set to conduct a hearing tonight on the summons, which police issued following two large brawls that emanated from FIXX, 26 West Front St., and spilled out onto West Front Street earlier this fall.
Those fights resulted in injuries, including to some responding police officers in one of the instances, and required police to seek assistance from numerous other area departments to help quell the melee in another.
O’Hern declined to discuss the details of the settlement agreement at this time, as it’s still being finalized.
He planned to have a formal resolution drafted with all the specifics for the council’s approval at an upcoming public meeting.
Had the council, which would have been serving as the local arm of the state Division of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) in the matter, determined the bar was guilty of the charges, the bar could have been forced to close for up to 30 days and had its license suspended, police said.
