LITTLE SILVER – Police are investigating an automotive collision that occurred Tuesday during the snowy morning , when a motorist wound up being dragged a distance until her vehicle came to a stop after hitting a tree.
Nora Archibald, a borough resident, was traveling north on Seven Bridges Road, when her vehicle ran into the rear of another vehicle, driven by Edward Devine, also of Little Silver, at the Rumson Road intersection, Police Chief Daniel Shaffery said in a prepared statement.
After the collision, Archibald attempted to exit her vehicle, but the vehicle continued to move forward and she became entangled in her seatbelt. She was dragged a distance before freeing herself and falling onto the roadway. Archibald’s unoccupied vehicle continued moving forward onto a home’s lawn before hitting the tree, Shaffery said.
Archibald was transported to Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, where she was treated for her injuries.
