2/13 – Tinton Falls Man Arrest in Red Bank on Variety of Charges

RED BANK – A Tinton Falls man was arrested on weapons offenses and other
charges following a traffic stop on Wednesday night.
Cameron Keyes, 19, was stopped on Leighton Avenue for a traffic violation at about 11:15 p.m. by patrolman Stanley Balmer. Keyes was subsequently found to have an active arrest warrant from Neptune Municipal Court, according to Chief Darren McConnell
When Balmer and p0atrolman David Hicks attempted to place Keyes under
arrest, he resisted and pulled a folding knife from his pocket, McConnell said.
Balmer was able to disarm Keyes who then continued to violently resist efforts to take him into custody and at one point spit on one of the officers. He was eventually subdued and taken into custody, the chief said.
Keyes was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and various traffic offenses.
Keyes was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail set at $131,000.
