12/2 – Highlands Man Charged After Allegedly Sending Facebook Messages

EATONTOWN – Borough police have arrested a Highlands man, charging him with violating a restraining order via Facebook.
Eric D. Nempsey, 28, Laurel Drive, Highlands was charged on Wednesday, Nov. 27, with being in violation of the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act of 1991, by allegedly sending the victim numerous private messages through Facebook. The intent of the messages was to harass the victim and violated a provision of a restraining order, authorities alleged, according to the criminal complaint police forwarded to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Freehold.
Nempsey’s bail was set at $5,000 with the option of posting a 10 percent bond.
Nempsey was ordered to have no further contact with the victim, as a provision of bail, the complaint stated.
