MIDDLETOWN – Township resident Pat Scire has his fingers crossed and is waiting excitedly to find out what the “Sharks” make of his young start-up company, as it competes on tonight’s episode “Shark Tank.”
To have his company, Zipz Wine, selected by the ABC reality show’s panel of high rolling potential investors could be “life changing,” Scire acknowledged earlier on Friday. “Without a doubt.”
“The possibility of making a deal with one of the sharks, with not only their money, but their contacts and door openings,” as well as winning $2.5 million—a 10 percent ownership in the company– he noted, “Yeah, it would be life changing.”
“Shark Tank” airs on ABC-TV Friday at 9 p.m.
Zipz Wine, which sells single serve glasses of a variety of wines in sealed recyclable individual plastic glasses, making the wine and its portable plastic ware ideal for locations where glass stemware wouldn’t be functional—at ballgames, poolside, and the like, as the company promotes it.
Zipz, for which Scire is president and J Henry Scott is partner and chief executive officer, on Friday evening, will have one of its partners Andrew McMurray make the pitch to the show’s panel, according to Scire.
Zipz will be competing against an Oklahoma couple who are promoting their women’s apparel company geared toward college sports teams and a single woman from Houston, Texas, who makes soap and grooming products.
