The Philadelphia Phillies have one of the best summer tournaments in the nation. 16 high school baseball All-Star teams from Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey compete every year for the Carpenter Cup. The 31st annual tournament is set to begin on June 13th and the Jersey Shore All-Star roster is a who’s who of local baseball stars. The team is comprised of recently graduated seniors along with some of the top underclassmen in Monmouth and Ocean County.
The single elimination tournament has its first two rounds play at FDR Park in Philadelphia with a great incentive to move on in the draw. That’s because the semifinals and finals are played at the Phillie First Citizens Park. For the last two years, the Jersey Shore All-Stars have had the thrill of playing in a big league stadium. The 2014 Jersey Shore team won the Carpenter Cup while 2015 squad reached the championship game.
