MIDDLETOWN – Police arrested a Belford man and his two adult sons after executing a search warrant for the alleged sale of marijuana from the home.
Police arrested brothers, Daniel and Connor Murphy, both 23, and their father, Daniel Murphy, 62, at their Campbell Avenue home on Thursday, Feb. 6, when members of the department’s detective bureau and Quality of Life Unit executed the warrant, obtained as the result of a month-long investigation, according to Lieut. Stephen Dollinger, a police spokesman.
The younger Daniel was charged with possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public park and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold, on $15,000 bail without the option to post a 10 percent bond, Dollinger said.
Connor was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and was released, pending a court date.
The elder Murphy was charged on an outstanding contempt of court warrant issued by the township’s municipal court, and was released on his own recognizance.
