4/28 – Discussion of Non-renewal of Fair Haven Principal, Some Teacher Contracts on Tap Tonight, Wednesday

FAIR HAVEN – Borough residents and parents are expected to attend tonight’s community chat with Superintendent of Schools Nelson Ribon as well as Wednesday’s regular Board of Education meeting during which members of the public are expected to voice opinions over recent board decisions involving the district’s two schools.
Ribon acknowledged this afternoon there are a number of teachers and Susan Alston, principal of the Viola Sickles School, who won’t have their contracts renewed next year. along with Susan Alston, principal of Viola L. Sickles School, the district’s elementary school.
Alston has been principal sine January 2013 at the district’s elementary school on Willow Street.
Ribon declined to discuss personnel matters, only noting these are decisions that districts make during the end of the school year.
Ribon’s chat is scheduled for 7 p.m. today in the all-purpose room of Knollwood School, 224 Hance Road, He is expected to respond to questions and comments.
The Wednesday school board meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., also at Knollwood School.
