The beaches in New Jersey were busy Saturday, April 27, as a small army of volunteers showed up during Clean Ocean Action’s 28th annual beach sweeps. Sites from Cape May to the Bayshore were cleared of debris that washed up during the winter. This year, volunteers also found a significant amount of trash generated by Super Storm Sandy.

The RCDS seventh-graders are, from left, Andrew Hall, Cash Woldseth, Paul Thomas, Alex Rusis, and Cole Demeulemeester.
