TRENTON  – Christie Administration cabinet will hold three public hearings to detail the proposed amendment to the New Jersey Disaster Recovery Action Plan, including one on Thursday at Brookdale Community College.
The hearings will look how at the state will spend $1.46 billion in federal Sandy recovery funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The administration opened a 30-day period on Wednesday, Feb. 5, for the public to comment on the state’s plan. The comment period will run through March 5.
The plan was developed in consultation with residents, elected officials, long-term recovery groups and other stakeholders in New Jersey and will incorporate feedback received during the public comment period.
During each public hearing, the Christie Administration also will host representatives from state agencies for a mobile cabinet meeting to offer hands-on assistance to Sandy-impacted residents and businesses.
The session at Brookdale will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 13, in the Robert J. Collins Arena and Recreation and Events Center, 65 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft.
