3/20 – Conference on Heroin to be Held at Monmouth U Tomorrow

WEST LONG BRANCH – Monmouth County’s Division of Mental Health & Addiction Services, Monmouth University and Monmouth Cares, Inc. are partnering to host a clinical conference on the heroin-opioid epidemic in Monmouth County from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Monmouth University.
The event will take place at Monmouth University’s from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The morning sessions will be at Pollak Theatre and the afternoon sessions will be at Woodrow Wilson Hall.
Monmouth County Department of Human Services Director Charles Brown will be the moderator for the day and the panelists will include Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni; Lynn Kovich, the state assistant commissioner of Mental Health and Addiction Services; and Abby Boxman, who lost her son to a heroin overdose. Several other state and local professionals will provide insights and information about this epidemic.
The conference will emphasize treatment interventions across the life span, related co-occurring disorders and law enforcement initiatives.
