TRENTON – The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund and United Policyholders will host an online seminar Wednesday to help residents covered by the National Flood Insurance Program.
The “Last Chance Webinar,” as the organizations are calling it, is scheduled for 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Those interested in participating should register at www.uphelp.org/webinar.
The webinar will walk organizations and homeowners through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) coverage and loss documents rules, filling proof of loss forms and answer common questions about flood damage and insurance recovery. Participants will be able to submit questions during the webinar.
Residents impacted by Super Storm Sandy and insured by the NFIP have until April 28 to submit all proof of loss documents and comply with NFIP claim requirements. Homeowners who have not appealed or filed additional forms and proof of damages by that deadline will lose the right to challenge their NFIP settlement.
The NFIP has very specific rules related to damage claim.
Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund is a private, independent charitable organization, chaired by New Jersey first lady Mary Pat Christie, that works with organizations on Sandy relief efforts.
United Policyholders is a non-profit insurance consumer organization helping people navigate insurance issues and recover from disasters.
