RED BANK – Borough officials announced cleanup plans, beginning today, at Riverside Gardens Park on West Front Street.
Councilman Edward Zipprich, the council’s liaison to the Public Works Utility, said the clean up is being done following the bruising winter because of the toll it took on one of the borough’s main venues for recreational activities. The award-winning park will undergo major restorative work now that the weather has warmed.
“We look forward to a speedy repair of the park that will ensure that it will be ready and welcoming for all residents and visitors alike,” Zipprich said.
The park is where the borough Department of Parks and Recreation holds such summer events as the concert series and movies in the park.
Councilwoman Juanita Lewis, who serves as the council’s liaison to parks and recreation department, said she expects work to be completed in time for the annual warm weather programs.
The schedule of events at the park will be announced shortly and will be available on the borough’s website, www.redbanknj.org or by calling parks and rec department, 732-530-2782.
