RUMSON – Hope for Children Foundation of New Jersey (HFCF) will benefit from the annual Salt Creek Grille Anniversary Wine & Martini Tasting Fundraiser to be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Bingham Avenue restaurant.
Tickets are $150 per person and sponsorships are available.
HFCF is also holding a cash raffle for $50 for a ticket and only 1000 tickets will be sold with first prize being $12,500; second, $5,000; third, $2,500; fourth, $1,500; fifth, $1,000; sixth through 10th, $500.
Steve Bidgood, managing partner of Salt Creek Grille in Rumson, started the event 11 years ago to celebrate the popular, award-winning restaurant’s fifth anniversary and to support local charities. To date more than $620,000 has been raised for 10 local charities that serve children’s needs; 100 percent of the proceeds go directly to the charity thanks to the support and donations of goods and services made by purveyors and Salt Creek Grille.
Six wine vendors, which have supported the event for the past 10 years, pour premiere wines and a spirits vendor shakes specialty martinis for the popular event. Salt Creek Grille provides passed hors d’oeuvres, pasta and carving stations. Local business favorites also get in on the act and have included artisanal cheeses from Sickles Market and a raw bar by Lusty Lobster. The Bobby Boyd Trio entertains the event with live jazz music.
“It means so much to us to be chosen by Steve Bidgood to be Salt Creek’s charity for 2014,” said Eric Hinds, president and cofounder of HFCF. “We have worked very hard over the past 10 years to become recognized within the community as an organization that is proven to be a viable resource for children in need.”
HFCF is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charitable organization of young professionals, entrepreneurs and parents in Monmouth County working together to raise funds to make a difference in the lives of children and their families. HFCF was started 10 years ago with the simple goal of “getting together with family, friends and colleagues to make a difference in our community.”
