Rose (Bonanno) Scotti , 86, of Little Silver, passed away at River view Hospital, Red Bank, on June 11 after a brief illness.
Rose was born in New York City. She was a graduate of Leonardo High School and the Monmouth Memorial School of Nursing. She did private duty nursing for many years. She was a volunteer at Monmouth Medical Center, Two River Theater and the Red Bank Charter School. She was a communicant of St Anthony’s Church, Red Bank.
She was predeceased by her husband Patrick R. Scotti in 1999, her parents Joseph and Lillian Bonanno and her eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Angela Scotti-Cheswick (Alfred), Loch Arbour, and sons Robert (Wendy), Red Bank, Stephen (Joan), Yorktown, Virginia, Michael (Luz), Tampa, Florida, Father Paschal Scotti, O.S.B., Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and Thomas (Karen), Medfield , Massachusetts. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brian, Sarah, Shea, Samantha, Anne and Jessica, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She loved her family, her house and her garden.
John E. Day Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 16 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Red Bank. Interment will be private. Please visit Rose’s memorial website at www.johnedayfuneralhome.com.
