SEA BRIGHT — It’s a party for Sea Bright with paint manufacturer Benjamin Moore on Saturday. The Montvale-based company will be holding a celebration on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in recognition of the near-completion of the facelift the small oceanfront community’s downtown business area is receiving from the paint company.
The event will be held at the Chapel beach club’s overflow parking area, in the vicinity of the former U.S. post office, on Ocean Avenue in the business district, and will feature a DJ and refreshments, as well as local officials and Benjamin Moore representatives, according to the borough clerk’s office.
Sea Bright, which was devastated by Super Storm Sandy in October 2012, was one of 20 communities around the country that voters selected for Benjamin Moore’s Main Street Matters contest. As a winner, buildings in the downtown area are getting a fresh paint job and some other modest work to their exteriors, helping to revitalize the community that is still working on its recovery efforts.
In total, 29 business facades are expected to have work done for them; work is expected to be completed prior to the Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start to the community’s all-important summer tourist and beach season.
