5/2 – Workshops for Arts Grants to Be Held Next Week

RED BANK – Monmouth Arts has released the Local Arts Program Grant guidelines, applications and workshops for fiscal year 2015,
Nonprofit arts organizations and other nonprofits with arts programs are eligible to apply. In 2013 a total of $88,000 in grants resulted in more than 2,550 high-quality, low-cost arts events, including art exhibitions, concerts, dance, theater, film and festivals throughout Monmouth County that appealed to more than 762,000 children and adults.
Groups are invited to go to www.monmoutharts.org to see the full guidelines, application and scheduled grant workshops.
The awarding of grants is a competitive process, reviewed by a panel of independent arts experts. Funds for the grants come through the Local Arts Program of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
The grants include General Operating Support (GOS) for arts organizations, General Program Support (GPS) for other types of non-profit organizations that have significant arts programs, Special Project Support (SP) for all types of non-profit organizations, Small Scale Arts (SSA) and Technical Assistance (TA).
Mini-grants of $500 are still available in 2014 for new and emerging art programs.
Workshops covering the application process and Americans with Disabilities requirements will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 5, and 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the Middletown Art Center, 36 Church St., Middletown. A long range planning workshop will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 12, at the same location.
