TRENTON – A Marlboro man, who had been a senior vice president of the White Rose independent food distributor, was sentenced on Wednesday in federal court to 20 months in prison for tax evasion.
Along with his prison term John Annetta, 61, will have to submit to supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Annetta had pleaded guilty in federal court to one count tax evasion.
Federal authorities charged that between 2006-2011, Annetta was given more than $1.6 million from two people he met during the course of working for the food distribution company operating in the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area. He did not report the income on his federal tax returns. Authorities charged he owed $536,530 in unpaid federal taxes.
