RED BANK – The borough’s public library has added some additional operating hours.
The library, 84 West Front St., has added seven hours to its weekly schedule, meaning it will be open for patrons for 27 hours each week, according to Councilwoman Kathy Horgan, who serves as the council’s liaison to the library’s board of trustees.
The library will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays; and 5 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, Horgan announced at Wednesday evening’s borough council meeting.
“Eventually, the library will be open on Saturdays,” she said. “Everybody has to remain patient.”
The library’s board of trustees scaled back operating hours to 20 from the 35 it was open and cut programs and staff due to budgetary constraints.
