FREEHOLD – A month-long investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force and the U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office culminated Monday in the seizure of approximately 20 pounds of marijuana from a Colts Neck home and the arrest of four Colts Neck men.
Investigators arrested Blake Lombardi, 22, Robert Lombardi, 60, Ronnie Rehim, 21, and Jason Lopiccolo, 21, and charged them with second-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute marijuana in excess of five pounds; second-degree conspiracy to possess marijuana and to distribute; and fourth-degree possession of marijuana over 50 grams, according to Charles Webster, a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office.
Blake Lombardi was released after posting $50,000 bail. The other suspects were released on their own recognizance.
The joint investigation, involving the assistance of the Colts Neck Police Department, uncovered what authorities alleged was a scheme involving packages, believed to contain the marijuana, that were addressed to a Colts Neck home. Investigators searched the residence where the packages were delivered, resulting in the seizure and arrests, Webster said.
The suspects each face prison terms of five to 10 years if convicted on the second-degree charges. The fourth-degree charges carry a maximum penalty of 18 months in prison, according to Webster.
