RED BANK – To celebrate the arrival of the first settlements in Monmouth County in 1664, the Navesink Maritime Heritage Association has brought the sailing ship Onrust to the Navesink River.
A replica of the first sailing ship built in the area and similar to the ships that bought the first settlers to Monmouth County, the Onrust will be docked in Marine Park, at the foot of Wharf Avenue.
Visitors can board the ship for free from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Some Red Bank restaurants will be offering discounts to anyone that tours the Onrust. A list of participating restaurants will be given out when you board the ship.
