7/11 – Littoral Society Resumes Family Nights This Evening at Sandy Hook

252

HIGHLANDS – The American Littoral Society will resume its popular Family Night events on Sandy Hook tonight.
Families with kids ages 2 to 12 (or even older) will discover the diverse wildlife in their own back yards. After a short introduction on the society’s Officer’s Row front porch, the group will head over to Horseshoe Cove on Sandy Hook Bay for a seining adventure.
Flanked by experienced society educators and naturalists, kids will be able to help pull the 40-foot seine net through the shallow waters of the bay and experience the excitement of learning about the fish and other critters they catch. Kids should wear clothes and shoes that can get wet. Participants are also welcome to picnic on the grounds prior to the event.
This season there will be three sessions, Thursday nights July 11 and 25 and Aug. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $10 per member family and $25 per non-member family. Space is limited.
Additional information, reservations and directions are available by calling 732-291-0055.
