7/13 – AH Historical Society to Hold Talk at Twin Lights

216

HIGHLANDS – Those interested in what’s happening at the historic Twin Lights can attend a talk at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the lighthouse and museum.
The Atlantic Highlands Historical Society is sponsoring the talk about the site, which has been under renovation. A new state-of-the-art gallery has been created and there are new exhibits and a video presentation.
Twin Lights Historical Society Collections Chair Mark Stewart and Twin Lights Curator Margaret Carlsen will offer a preview of the new museum to the Atlantic Highlands Historical Society, its members and friends.
A rare South Tower night climb – weather permitting – will be included and it is recommended that attendees wear flat shoes.
The talk is free and open to the public.
It will be held at the Twin Lights Museum meeting room, 2 Light House Road.
All are welcome to come and learn what has been accomplished and what further improvements are planned for these historic beacons, first illuminated in 1828.
Refreshments, provided by historical society members, will be served after the meeting.
