7/23 – Fair Haven to ‘Take a Bite Out of Crime’ with Aug. 6 National Night Out

FAIR HAVEN — Borough police will be participating on Tuesday, Aug. 6, in the 11th annual National Night Out Against Crime.
The event will take place starting at 5 p.m. at the borough’s youth center, located behind police headquarters, 35 Fisk St.
Among the activities and demonstrations police are expecting are: a MONOC helicopter air medic unit, which is slated to land at the beginning of the program; a dunk tank, sponsored by the Fair Haven PTA; a radar-measured inflatable speed pitch, sponsored by the local volunteer fire department; an inflatable tent featuring four separate games, sponsored by the first aid squad; a karate demonstration presented by Fair Haven Martial Arts; an officer and his dog from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department; borough police offering crime prevention information; complimentary refreshments; representatives from Target department store, Middletown, featuring giveaways, because Target is the national sponsor of the nationwide neighborhood-based crime and drug prevention event; and an appearance by McGruff the Crime Dog.
