7/31 – Applications Accepted for Monmouth County Citizen Police Academy

FREEHOLD – Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden has announced that applications are now being accepted for enrollment in the 17th Annual Citizen Police Academy which begins Sept. 24.
The academy, held over six weeks from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 24 through Oct. 29 will be held at the Monmouth County Police Academy in Freehold.
Citizen Police Academy is a 12-hour block of instruction designed to give attendees an overview of law enforcement services in Monmouth County and features presentations by municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
The course is the prerequisite for becoming a member of the VISCOMP Volunteer Program.
Applications are available to Monmouth County residents, age 18 or older, who have no criminal record.
The deadline for applying is Sept. 13. Enrollment is limited. There is no fee for the course.
