COLTS NECK — The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and township police are asking anyone with any information about the stabbing occurring in the township early Sunday to contact them.
The only information the prosecutor’s office is releasing at this time is that a 41-year-old female Bray Avenue resident was attacked and stabbed several times at approximately 12:30 a.m., according to Charles Webster, a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office.
The perpetrator “then stole the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene,” Webster said, adding he did not have information about the make and model of the vehicle.
The victim, who was not identified, was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Webster would not name the hospital. As of Monday morning, the victim was listed in critical but stable condition, Webster said.
Following the attack, the Colts Neck police sent an email to residents containing some information, Webster said.
Colts Neck Police Chief Kevin Sauter and investigating detective Richard Zarrillo were not immediately available.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Zarrillo at 732-780-7323, or Monmouth County detective Andrea Tozzi at 800-533-7443.
