RED BANK — The borough council is expected to take action during its meeting Wednesday night to authorize the Dog Days of Summer events, scheduled for July 30, Aug. 27, Sept. 7-8 and Oct. 19.
The events, held the last Tuesday evening of each month, are aimed at attracting pet owners and other pedestrians to the portion of Monmouth Street business corridor between Drummond Place and Broad Street which will be closed to vehicular traffic.
The borough’s Special Events Committee has approved the idea, but it needs the official approval of the council for the street closing.
The council meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in borough hall, 90 Monmouth St.
