SEA BRIGHT – The U.S. Postal Service has scheduled a public hearing on Thursday, Aug. 22, about its plans to look into the possibly of permanently closing the borough’s postal branch.
The post office was located at 1028 Ocean Ave., until last October when Super Storm Sandy badly damaged the facility. The facility has remained close since then with resident using the Rumson post office. That branch has taken over responsibility of delivering mail to borough addresses. That is not expected to change.
The hearing is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. at the Cecile F. Norton Community Center, 1167 Ocean Ave. Postal representatives will be on hand to hear the public’s views.
