MIDDLETOWN — An explosion occurred this morning at Earle Naval Weapons Station’s Waterfront complex, located on Highway 36, Leonardo, according to Middletown Police Lt. Stephen Dollinger.
The explosion appeared to have been caused by a wielding accident, Dollinger said.
Calls to Earle’s public information officer were not immediately returned.
