FREEHOLD – Monmouth County grand juries handed up a number of indictments this wek.
A grand jury handed up a two-count indictment on Tuesday, Aug. 19, charging Francis R. Olbrys of 46, Day Ave., Middletown, with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, heroin, and obstructing the administration of law or other government function, stemming from his arrest on May 27 in Middletown.
Also on Tuesday, Aug. 19, a grand jury indicted Vito Ameno, 38, of Haven Street, in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine.
Kristen M. Smith, 22, Rimwood Drive, in the Lincroft section of Middletown, was named in an indictment handed up by a grand jury on Wednesday, Aug. 20. She was indicted for assault by auto and leaving the scene of an vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury.
According to the indictment, Smith was arrested on April 12 in Asbury Park after allegedly striking the victim with her vehicle, within 1,000 feet of Asbury Park Middle School property, causing serious bodily injury to the victim and then knowingly leaving the scene.
