FREEHOLD – A Monmouth County man who operated an Old Bridge used car dealership pleaded guilty today to using fraudulent titles to sell Sandy damaged vehicles.
Jonathan Olin, 42, of Manalapan, pleaded guilty in state Superior Court in Monmouth County to second-degree theft by deception, according to the state Office of the Attorney General.
Olin, the operator of D&D Auto Sales on Englishtown Road, Old Bridge, admitted to obtaining fraudulent titles to eight vehicles damaged by flooding and selling seven of them to unsuspecting customers, according to the attorney general’s office.
Under the terms of the plea agreement, state authorities will recommend to the court that Olin be sentenced to three years in state prison. In addition he will have to forfeit his license to sell vehicles in New Jersey for a period to be determined by the court and to pay full restitution to the victims.
In a related case, Jessie Dinome, 30, Jackson, who formerly worked as a technician at the Freehold Motor Vehicle Agency, also pleaded guilty today to third-degree tampering with public records in her role assisting Olin in obtaining the titles.  The state will recommend she be sentenced to 364 days in county jail as a condition of her term of probation, the attorney general’s office said. Dinome also will forfeit her job and benefits and will permanently be prohibited from public employment in New Jersey.
Charges are pending against a former salesman at the dealership, the office said.
Olin and Dinome will again be in court in Freehold on Oct. 31 for sentencing.
