TINTON FALLS — Mayor Michael Skudera has will not be seeking a second term.
In an email sent to residents yesterday, Skudera made his announcement. “I am looking forward to what life brings next,” he said without offering any reason for not running for another four-year term or the timing of the email.
Skudera offered his support to Gerald Turning, the current borough administrator, who will be running for the post along with veteran Borough Councilman Scott Larkin and Zoning Board of Adjustment member John Roche.
Prior to winning the mayor’s office in 2009, Skudera had been a borough councilman since 2005.
The borough government is nonpartisan under the state’s Faulkner Act.
