9/16 – Middletown Police Investigating Pedestrian Fatality

MIDDLETOWN – Township police have reported a fatal motor vehicle accident, involving a pedestrian on Highway 36, which occurred in the early morning hours today.
Police identified the victim early this evening as William Lesser, 27, from Atlantic Highlands, who was was killed when he was struck by a vehicle at approximately 3:20 a.m., according to detective Lt. Stephen Dollinger, a police spokesman.
The incident happened in the westbound lane of Highway 36, just east of the Main Street, Keansburg/Palmer Avenue intersection, according to Dollinger.
Police have not released the name of the victim or any other details but are asking anyone with any information to contact Cpl. Darrin Simon, who is with the department’s Traffic Safety Bureau, at 732-615-2046.
