SEA BRIGHT – The 11th annual SkimBash skimboarding competition returns today and tomorrow at the municipal beach.
The high-energy, exciting community event offers thrills for competitors and spectators of all ages.
Skimboarders from beginners to professionals will gather for the two-day event to show off their skills and compete for prizes. The Pro Division showcases the country’s best skimboarders, who compete for a cash purse.
The contest runs from 9 a.m. to about 4 p.m. each day.
Families, teens and young adults will gather at Sea Bright’s beach to cheer on contestants and show their support for the local skimboarding community.
The contest is sponsored by Jersey Shore Skim Camp and presented by Sea Bright Recreation. Competitors pay an entry fee; spectators are free.
“We are excited to return to Sea Bright for our September contest,” said Felecia Stratton, SkimBash contest director. “The Sea Bright Beach is in pristine condition, and wave conditions have been consistently good for skimboarding.”
