The Nine Holers of Beacon Hill Country Club held a surprise luncheon to celebrate the 95th birthday of their golf mate Marge Miller.
A long-time resident of Rumson, Marge joined Beacon Hill in 1963 and still gets out on the course to play. Some fellow golfers who attended the luncheon were Florence Ferguson, Joan Miller and Ruth Lehman.
She graduated from Wellesley College, where she majored in math. As a young woman she played tennis, basketball, baseball, and golf. Marge really started to play golf when she went on a business trip with her husband. After that, she was hooked and that became her sport. She won her share of golf tournaments and the one that was most exciting had to be winning the President’s Cup.
She has three sons and daughters-in-law, seven grandchildren and three great grand children.
Marge goes out to play golf when she can and she also is an avid bridge player.
