LONG BRANCH – Pier Village is gearing up for another fun event on Saturday, March 2, to celebrate “The Tiny Tasty Tour.”
The event will highlight Pier Village retail shops and restaurants through product sampling and a cooking demonstration.
Pier Village, the luxurious oceanfront shopping and dining destination, is a year-round community with 30 unique shops, restaurants and 530 luxury residential apartments.
The Tiny Tasty Tour runs from 3 to 6 p.m. and will feature Chef James Conroy at Carter & Cavero Old World Olive Oil Company for a live cooking demonstration and free tasting. Conroy, a classically trained chef who specializes in northern Italian cuisine, will be highlighting the gourmet products from Carter & Cavero to create tapanadas on pan roasted Italian bread and red apple balsamic chicken.
Conroy, a hospitality and culinary arts instructor at Lakewood High School and producer of culinary training videos, is right at home when demonstrating his skills at Pier Village.
“The Pier Village customers are so interactive,” Conroy said. “It’s great to see so many people interested in what it takes to create great cuisine.”
Among the tour participants are The Sneaker Factory, which will be offering samples of its newest sports drink, Fluid Performance; and Shaka, which will have a sampling of its pineapple and pumpkin soup at the front tiki bar.
Visitors can round out The Tiny Tasty Tour at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory with a free fudge tasting of their choice.
All tour participants are located within a short walking distance of each other.
The event is free and open to the public.
