AAUW Holiday Fundraiser

RUMSON – The breathtaking mosaics of Ravenna, Italy, will be center stage at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the traditional holiday fundraiser of AAUW the Northern Monmouth County Branch (NMCB) at Rumson Presbyterian Church, 4 East River Road.
The community is invited to join AAUW members as Mary Anne Anderl shares her extensive knowledge of the glitter and glory of the Byzantine mosaics. Guests will also have a chance to peruse art and handiwork from women around the globe.
Anderl’s presentation will be complemented by an array of holiday desserts, many of them homemade.
Novel products handcrafted by women from 25 countries around the world – and perfect for gift giving – will also be on display and available for sale, thanks to Women’s Work store founder Cecelia Dinio Durkin. Located in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Women’s Work’s mission is to enable women to live their chosen, desired way of life. Durkin is the international chair for the Poughkeepsie branch of AAUW and lived in Botswana for three years.
Admission to the fundraiser, $15 payable at the door, is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit the NMCB Scholarship Fund that provides scholarships for local women attending Brookdale Community College, Monmouth University and Douglas College.
