MIDDLETOWN
The Middletown Lions Club will host its 7th Annual Pancake Breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Applebees Restaurant in the Middletown Shopping Center on Route 35 north at New Monmouth Road.
Funds generated will be dedicated to the Middletown Disaster Relief Fund, a charitable organization, founded to assist township residents impacted by Super Storm Sandy.
The cost is $10 for a complete breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, orange juice and coffee. Breakfast will be served by Lion volunteers.

RUMSON
Holy Cross School in Rumson will be hosting its annual gala at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, to benefit the school with a portion of the proceeds going to help the Holy Cross families affected by Super Storm Sandy.
This year the Holy Cross community decided it was important to give back by helping those families who were affected by the devastating storm. This year’s gala will be held at the Molly Pitcher Inn on West Front Street in Red Bank.
“We are excited to announce that the East Coast Band, featuring 29-year-old 2010 American Idol finalist Michael Lynche, will be performing at the event,” said Jessica Hickey, Holy Cross PTA president.
“This is sure to be the entertaining night to benefit two great causes,” said William J. Belluzzi, the school’s principal.

The Rumson School District will be offering an integrated preschool program at the Deane-Porter School, 50 Blackpoint Road, which will be open to 3- and 4-year-old children.
The program, which is aligned with the state Department of Education’s Preschool Teaching and Learning Standard, provides an inclusive educational environment for preschool children.
Typically developing children, as well as children with special needs, will be included in the program.
A lottery system will be used to determine the students offered enrollment, if required. The lottery drawing will be held Monday, March 4.
Children are eligible for the program if they are 3 years old by Oct. 15, but not over 5 years old. A birth certificate with a raised seal and two proofs of residency are required to apply and must be presented when the application is submitted.
Transportation to the program is the responsibility of the parents/guardians.
Applications are available at the Deane-Porter Elementary School’s Main Office and must be returned no later than 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28.
