FAIR HAVEN
The Garden Club of Fair Haven will meet at noon Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the youth center on Fisk Road.
The guest this month will be David Moskowitz, the driving force behind the creation of an 11-acre park dedicated to the conservation and enjoyment of butterflies.
Members also will be showing their own creations of a Valentine’s Day-themed small flower arrangement titled “Breakfast for Your Sweetheart” and a “Winter Delights,” a show of homegrown amaryllis and berried and coned branches from members’ own gardens.
There will be a $4 fee for guests to cover the cost of a luncheon.
 
HOLMDEL
The Kiwanis Club of Holmdel is holding its annual steak bake from 7 to 11 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the Holmdel Fire House, 35 W. Main St.
Dinner is $40 per person. Beer and wine are included along with a wide array of food in addition to the filet mignon toasts.
The Holmdel Kiwanis serves families in the Bayshore area supporting a wide variety of charities in the community.

LINCROFT
 
The Monmouth County Park System is hosting an introductory archery class for teens on Wednesday, Feb. 6. The class is open to teens ages 12-15. All skill levels are welcome.
The class will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Thompson Park Activity Barn, Newman Springs Road.
The cost is $17 per person and includes use of equipment.

This spring take up “Gardening for Wildlife,” be part of the “Great American Family BBQ and Campout” and go on a sunset kayak tour with the Monmouth County Park System.
Those will be some of the offerings in the park system’s program directory, which will be released Friday, Feb. 8. The directory will list upcoming arts and crafts, nature, recreation and sports programs.
In its biggest spring issue ever, the park system is offering more than 100 new programs and hundreds of returning favorites for a total of more than 500 programs.
Available in most county parks, the directory also will list all park system special events and programs offered during March, April and May.
Registration for spring programs begins on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 8 a.m. Online registration is available for most programs. Consult the program directory for details about registering online, by phone, by mail or in person.

LONG BRANCH
Cinderella’s Closet of Monmouth County will host its sixth Annual Prom Fashion Show from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Ocean Place Resort.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door.
Guests will be treated to a light buffet dinner, entertainment, and a prom fashion show featuring upcoming 2013 prom fashions provided by Whisper’s Fashions and Men’s Wearhouse. Chips Salon will do hair and makeup for the models. The event also will host local area high school students as they present their own original prom fashion designs to the runway.
Cinderella’s Closet is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, which provides prom attire to students in need. All proceeds from the event fund the Cinderella’s Closet Charity Boutique. The goal at Cinderella’s Closet of Monmouth County is to make sure that no high school student has to forfeit the lifelong memories associated with attending their prom.

WEST LONG BRANCH
Monmouth University Lacrosse Kortney Rose Clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3, in Boylan Gym.
Instruction will be led by Monmouth University players and coaching staff. Donations will go to the Kortney Rose Foundation, an organization that is dedicated to raising funds to support research and education related to the treatment and cure of pediatric brain tumors.
