The Transition Monmouth reskilling series continues Sunday, Aug. 4, with a free composting demonstration by Debbie Lee of Green Quest. Composting is a key part of building sustainable, resilient communities. Those who want to learn more may drop in anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. under the gazebo at the Eatontown Farmers’ Market, Route 35 at West Street.

MIDDLETOWN
The B.Y.A.A.’s co-ed recreational soccer league registration for the fall will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Middletown Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Road. The league is for boys and girls ages 4 to 17.
Signups will be in the community room. Fees will be $75 per child or $180 for the family rate and must be made in person via cash or check. Games will be held at Bayview Elementary School Soccer Fields, 300 Leonardville Road, Belford.

RED BANK
The Community YMCA is expanding its efforts to nurture adolescents and support safety of children with the Safe Sitter program. The Family Health and Wellness Center is now a registered Safe Sitter teaching site. Safe Sitter is a comprehensive babysitting training program for adolescents ages 11-14. The course will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at the Red Bank location, 166 Maple Ave. Participants are asked to bring two snacks and a lunch.
Nationally, the Safe Sitter program has graduated more than 600,000 teens who are able to safely handle emergencies when caring for younger children.
