The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council will hold an Affordable Art and Fine Crafts Show and Sale on two Saturday afternoons from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 16 and 23, at its gallery space in the Finelines Building, 21 W. Lincoln Ave.
Featured artists include: Diane Cypser of Manalapan with handwoven beaded jewelry; Ayala Naphtali of Fair Haven with jewelry; Angeliki Morfogen of Colts Neck with pottery masks, fused glass pendants; Pam Gosner with fused dichroic glass and small paintings; John McAllister of Asbury Park with mixed-media metal jewelry; Anne and Bob Milling of Atlantic Highlands with handmade glass bead necklaces; Jeong Eun Kim of Linwood, a teacher at Thompson Park, with precious metal clay jewelry; Jill Briggles with distinctive pottery; Barbara Lipton of Atlantic Highlands with hand-felted scarves, and more.
There will be several different artists each Saturday.

Bayshore Community Hospital will host Mitchell-Vassar Vision Awareness Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Robert B. Meyner Reception Center at the PNC Arts Center.
Gail McWilliams, a motivational speaker who uses humor, sheer joy, and her personal experience with vision impairment, will provide inspiration for seeing beyond life’s current obstacles and challenges. Her talk, which is infused with threads of hope, vision and passion for life, will inspire all participants to view life as a gift that is full of possibilities.
The day also will include an educational program presented by Dr. Manoj M. Thakker, a board-certified ophthalmologist; a resource fair, featuring New Jersey Blind Citizens Association, Lions Club, Monmouth County Health Department and the state Commission for the Blind; and lunch. Guests are encouraged to bring unwanted eyeglasses for the Lions Club Recycle for Sight program.

RED BANK
The Navesink Garden Club is presenting a program by Rachael Mackow titled “Wild Winter: Elixirs and Spices from the Native Garden” at 1 p.m. Nov. 19 at The Atrium on Route 35.
The public is invited to attend free of charge.
Today’s spice rack and medicine cabinet offer warming, aromatic spices and remedies to ease cold-season complaints. Home-steaders, miles from the market and doctor, relied on the wild for food or medicine. Through her program, Mackow will lead a light-hearted excursion into winter survival and see whether bounty still exists beneath crackling leaves and windswept branches to highlight traditional uses of native and non-native plants, including edible and medicinal spices.
Mackow is an accomplished writer, photographer, lecturer and naturalist. In addition, she is co-owner of a native plant nursery.

Carter & Cavero, 19 Monmouth St., is hosting a “Fresh Harvest” tasting and cooking demonstration from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, wiith celebrity chef Diane Henderiks.
Guests attending the free demonstration can sample Carter & Cavero’s fine extra-virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars from around the world with Henderik’s flair for making fresh fall dishes. They will get healthy holiday tips, too.
The event will feature Diane’s Famous Thanksgiving Bread Cornucopia, a unique, hand-rolled bread cornucopia filled with seasonal fruits and nuts for the Thanksgiving table.
Henderiks is a personal chef and registered dietitian who is on a mission to teach America how to cook and eat well. She travels the country sharing her expertise and engaging audiences as she demonstrates that “any dish can be revamped to be good for you, it just takes a little education and finesse.“
