ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS
The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council will hold a celebration of the beginning of fall with a concert by Cat and Fiddle at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in a borough home.
Cat and Fiddle are traditional Irish music session leaders, who pride themselves on creating a relaxed and open environment to encourage and foster musicians while maintaining the highest standards of musicianship. Led by Tony Horswill and Tom Dunne, who have played together for many years, they also are known for fostering relationships and community with patrons of pubs and restaurants in a partnership with the owners.
Horswill and Dunne founded the Anne & Pat Molloy traditional music summer school, teaching classes in traditional Irish instruments. The school honors Pat Molloy, who was the master of Irish music teaching in Birmingham and keeps his memory alive.
Guests will not only enjoy fine music, but refreshments and engaging conversation in an elegant home in Atlantic Highlands.
The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council’s Living Room Concert series presents professional musicians in the intimate living rooms of private homes and of the Historical Society’s Strauss Mansion. With fewer than 50 seats available for each concert, audience members have the opportunity to meet the musicians.
Tickets are $25, and are available online at aharts.org.
